Neutralino Relic Density in a Universe with a non-vanishing Cosmological Constant
نویسندگان
چکیده
We discuss the relic density of the lightest of the supersymmetric particles in view of new cosmological data, which favour the concept of an accelerating Universe with a non-vanishing cosmological constant. Recent astrophysical observations provide us with very precise values of the relevant cosmological parameters. Certain of these parameters have direct implications on particle physics, e.g., the value of matter density, which in conjunction with electroweak precision data put severe constraints on the supersymmetry breaking scale. In the context of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) such limits read as: M1/2 ' 300 GeV−340 GeV, m0 ' 80 GeV−130 GeV. Within the context of the CMSSM a way to avoid these constraints is either to go to the large tan β and μ > 0 region, or make τ̃R, the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), be almost degenerate in mass with LSP. Neutralino Relic Density with a Cosmological Constant confronts Electroweak Precision Measurements
We discuss the relic density of the lightest of the supersymmetric particles (LSP) in view of new cosmological data, which favour the concept of an accelerating Universe with a non-vanishing cosmological constant. The new bound on the Cold Dark Matter density, ΩCDMh 2 0 . 0.22, puts stringent constraints on supersymmetry preferring low supersymmetry breaking scales, in sharp contrast to electro...

متن کاملNeutralino Relic Density Enhancement in Non-standard Cosmologies
The thermal relic abundance of species critically depends on the assumed underlying cosmological model. In the case of neutralinos, freeze-out takes place long before Big Bang Nucleosynthesis, which provides the strongest constraint on the evolution of the Hubble parameter in the Early Universe. We show that non-standard cosmologies, such as models featuring a quintessential scalar field or pri...
متن کاملCosmological relic density from minimal supergravity with implications for collider physics.
Working within the framework of the minimal supergravity model with gauge coupling unification and radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, we evaluate the cosmological relic density from lightest neutralinos produced in the early universe. Our numerical calculation is distinct in that it involves direct evaluation of neutralino annihilation cross sections using helicity amplitude techniques, a...
متن کاملSupersymmetric dark matter with a cosmological constant
Recent measurements of cosmological parameters from the microwave background radiation, type Ia supernovae, and the age of globular clusters help determine the relic matter density in the universe. It is first shown with mild cosmological assumptions that the relic matter density satisfies ΩMh 2 < 0.6 independent of the cosmological constant and independent of the SNIa data. Including the SNIa ...
